The Friends of Carpenter's Brook Fish Hatchery is a 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit organization that supports the Hatchery and it many programs.

Occupying 100 acres of land on the western edge of Onondaga County, Carpenter's Brook raises more than 100,000 Brook, Brown, and Rainbow Trout yearly. Originally built during the Great Depression under a Works Project Administration grant, the hatchery has been in continuous operation for nearly 70 years.

Each year, the Hatchery stocks over 100 miles of streams and 10,000 acres of ponds, and lakes throughout Onondaga County, helping to ensure the fishing dreams, fish tales, and lasting memories for past, present, and future generations of anglers.

The Friends of Carpenter's Brook Fish Hatchery is the only four-time winner of the Onondaga County Federation of Sportsmen's "Club of the Year" in 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2004.

In 2002, the Friends were honored by the New York State Conservation Council as "Club of the Year."
